Vice President Dick Cheney and Mrs. Lynne Cheney cut the ceremonial ribbon, Monday, July 30, 2007, to inaugurate the Richard B. and Lynne V. Cheney Cardiovascular Institute at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The Institute's mission is to promote clinical research, education, patient care and community service with the goal of accelerating the pace of scientific discovery, reducing mortality and improving the quality of life of Americans with cardiovascular disease.
