President Bush Celebrates National Day of Prayer

Said the President, "On this day, Americans come together to thank our Creator for our nation's many blessings. We are a blessed nation. And on this day, we celebrate our freedoms, particularly the freedom to pray in public and the great diversity of faith found in America. I love being the President of a country where people feel free to worship as they see fit. President George W. Bush salutes Tech Sgt. Ben Kuroki, of the 442nd Regiment, during his remarks Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the East Room of the White House. Ben Kuroki, flew nearly 60 combat missions in both Europe and the Pacific. The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was a segregated Army unit composed mostly of Japanese American volunteers.
