FOR PAY-AS-YOU-GO CALCULATIONS

  1. LAW NUMBER: P.L.106-329 (H.R. 4226)
  2. BILL TITLE: Black Hills National Forest and Rocky Mountain Research Station Improvement Act
  3. BILL PURPOSE: (1) Permits the Secretary of Agriculture to sell or exchange certain property in the Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota and use the proceeds for replacement property and improvements in this area; and (2) authorizes appropriations for a new laboratory facility at the Rocky Mountain Research Station in Rapid City, South Dakota.
  4. OMB ESTIMATE: P.L. 106-329 authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to sell or exchange certain land in the Black Hills National Forest, and to accept cash equalization payments up to the full value of the land. OMB estimates that the land sales resulting from this authority will increase receipts by $1 million a year in FY 2001 and FY 2002. The spending of the receipts will be subject to appropriations.
