Russias outgoing Ambassador to the United States, Yuriy Ushakov, paid a farewell courtesy call on the President on June 6, 2008. With over nine years of service in Washington, Ambassador Ushakov is the longest serving post-Soviet Russian Ambassador to the United States. He has played a critical role in increasing mutual understanding between the United States and Russia and advancing the U.S.-Russia partnership to face the global challenges of the 21st century. The President wished Ambassador Ushakov well on his return to Moscow later this month. White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian
