Daniel L. Rubini
Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Justice in Iraq
Daniel L. Rubini is the Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Justice in Iraq. Rubini joined the staff of the Coalition Provisional Authority in September.
As senior advisor, Rubini advises CPA administrator Ambassador L. Paul Bremer on justice issues, such as the judiciary and prisons. In addition, Rubini assists Iraq.s justice minister and chief justice in their operation of Iraq.s newly independent judiciary.
Judge Rubini is a U.S. administrative law judge for Social Security Administration Office of Hearings and Appeals. In addition, Rubini has been an officer in the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps for more than 32 years. He has held the rank of colonel since 1994. During his service in the U.S. Army Reserve, Rubini has received specialized training in civil affairs, terrorism and law of war. He has been named a Distinguished Member of the US Army Civil Affairs Regiment.
Rubini has served on US Army Civil Affairs Ministerial Advisory Teams in Kuwait (Desert Shield/Storm) and Haiti. In addition, he was the Chief of Civil Affairs in Central America as part of US Southern Command.s recovery operation after Hurricane Mitch.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Rubini earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and his Juris Doctor degree from Temple University Law School.
