Gordon Johndroe
Special Assistant to the President,
National Security Council Spokesman and
Deputy White House Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs
Gordon Johndroe is the Spokesman for the White House National Security Council. In this position, he serves as the chief spokesman for national security affairs at The White House and supports the National Security Adviser and Press Secretary with their communications needs. Most recently, he served as Director of Strategic Communications in the Bureau of Public Affairs at the Department of State. Prior to his service at the State Department, he was Press Secretary to the First Lady. Before joining Mrs. Bush's staff, Mr. Johndroe was the Press Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security.
Mr. Johndroe served as an Assistant Press Secretary and as a spokesman at The White House beginning in January, 2001 until the creation of the Department of Homeland Security in January, 2003.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he attended the University of Texas at Austin.
