OMB Director Nussle on Passage of H.R. 2642
Washington, DC — Today, OMB Director Jim Nussle issued the following statement on the House passage of H.R. 2642, the Supplemental Appropriations Bill of 2008.
"It has been 15 months since the supplemental request was first delivered to Congress. Our troops serving in harm's way urgently need our support but Democrats today blocked a clean war funding bill for our troops. Instead they insisted on tax increases, higher spending, and tying the hands of our military commanders. Those are misplaced priorities and the President will veto this bill.”
