OMB provides one-stop shopping on-line to help small businesses navigate federal requirements
Washington, DC - Today the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) announced a one-stop resource is now available on-line to help small businesses better understand Federal requirements relating to regulations, taxes, and other paperwork and to have a point of contact at each agency when they have specific questions.
The Small Business Paperwork Relief Act of 2002 requires OMB to compile, in consultation with the Small Business Administration, an annual list of compliance assistance resources available to small businesses. The Act also requires Federal agencies to designate an appropriate point of contact for small business paperwork issues. OMB has integrated both lists and made them available, for the first time, on the Web site, http://www.business.gov/compliance_resources. This Business Gateway Initiative is one of the Presidential E-Government programs designed to use Internet technologies to provide citizens, businesses and governments with easier access to information and opportunities.
“This tool provides small business with one-stop shopping-helping them to better navigate Federal requirements with the click of a mouse,” said Clay Johnson, Deputy Director for Management. “Making this information available on Business.gov will make it easier for small businesses to understand and comply with Federal requirements. The Presidential E-Government initiatives were designed to help citizens communicate more efficiently and effectively with government, and today’s announcement is good progress toward that end.”
