The list of micropolitan statistical areas originally
published on June 6, 2003 in the attachment to OMB Bulletin 03-04 erroneously
listed Easton, MD as the principal city of the East Stroudsburg, PA Micropolitan
Statistical Area and East Stroudsburg, PA as the principal city of the
Easton, MD Micropolitan Statistical Area. Easton and East Stroudsburg
each are principal cities of the micropolitan statistical area bearing
the same name. This error was corrected in a revised list posted to OMB’s
website on June 9, 2003.
List 4 Combined Statistical Areas
The North Vernon, IN Micropolitan Statistical Area was
omitted as a component of the Indianapolis-Anderson-Columbus, IN Combined
Statistical Area.
As a result, the correct number of component areas within
the 116 Combined Statistical Areas in the United States and Puerto Rico
is 315.
List 5 Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical
Areas, Metropolitan Divisions, and Combined Statistical Areas by State
The code for the Boston-Quincy, MA Metropolitan Division
was erroneously listed as 14464. The correct code is 14484.
The code for the San Juan-Caguas-Fajardo, PR Combined
Statistical Area was erroneously listed as 498. The correct code is 490.
The title of the Rockingham County-Strafford County Metropolitan
Division within the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA-NH Metropolitan Statistical
Area listed under the New Hampshire section of list 5 erroneously omitted
the word “County” after both county names.
The entry for the Newark-Union, NJ-PA Metropolitan Division
(code: 35084) under both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania sections of list
5 should have included the word “(part)”.
List 6 New England City and Town Areas and Components
The minor civil division type was incorrectly listed for
the following areas:
The following entities were omitted from the components
of the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA-NH NECTA Division within the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy,
MA-NH Metropolitan NECTA: Dover town, Foxborough town, and Franklin city
in Norfolk County.
List 7 Combined New England City and Town Areas
The list of components within the Bridgeport-New Haven-Stamford,
CT Combined NECTA, included the erroneously titled area: “New Haven-Milford,
CT Metropolitan New England City and Town Area.” The correct title
should be “New Haven, CT Metropolitan New England City and Town
Area.”
