President and Mrs. Bush to Welcome President of the Republic of Ghana and Mrs. Kufuor to the White House
Visit by President John Kufuor of the Republic of Ghana
President and Mrs. Bush are pleased to welcome the President of the Republic of Ghana and Mrs. Kufuor for a State Visit on September 15, 2008. The United States and Ghana enjoy warm relations and a shared commitment to promote peace and prosperity in Africa and throughout the world.
President and Mrs. Bush visited Ghana in February 2008 and welcome the opportunity to return the generous hospitality that President and Mrs. Kufuor and the Ghanaian people extended to them during the visit.
The visit will celebrate the United States growing partnership with Ghana. The two Presidents will discuss efforts to combat malaria and neglected tropical diseases, as well as Ghana's efforts to promote democratic values, peace, and stability in Africa.
